Today,I will present a Internet Guru on Squidoo. She ranked his lens No.1 on Squidoo and made $17,689.25 in September. She is called Janet,38 years old.
I worked for 10 years in the accounting field until I had my first child in 1997. I had planned to go back to work after my daughter was born, but when the time actually came to go back, I just couldn’t. I knew in my heart that I wanted to be home to raise her and I was very fortunate that my husband was able to support our household on his income. We weren’t sure at first how we would be able to do it, but sometimes things just work out.
I love being a stay at home mom and would not trade it for anything. However, during the 11 years I have been home, I have tried many different ways to earn money. Nothing seemed to work. It is not that we neccessarily needed the income, but after having worked for so long, it just didn’t feel right not contributing to the household expenses. Plus, as I am certain everyone here would agree, it is always nice to have some extra spending money.
In 2005, my husband and I started an image hosting site. While running that site, I posted on many webmaster forums and that is where I first heard of Squidoo.
I created my account on Squidoo in January 2007. I initially set up lenses here to promote my image hosting site. I then started playing around making some more lenses on topics that interested me and as soon as I started seeing the money coming in, I was hooked! It was at that point that I realized the potential there was here and it encouraged me to work harder and make more lenses.
However, I must be completely honest. In the beginning I was not making a fortune (see my earnings figures below), but I stuck with it and through trial and error discovered what worked and what didn’t work.
In the beginning, I was earning just enough money to buy things for the kids or cover some other small expenses, but now I can actually pay for some of the larger household bills. It feels great that I am able to do that. My three year goal is to make $2,000+ a month.
It varies from lensmaster to lensmaster, but *on average* it can take you up to 6 months of creating lenses to see a significant income. So, be patient! Remember: Every lens you build will become a source of future income for you. Plus, while you are waiting for the bigger paychecks, you can have fun creating lenses and interacting with a wonderful community of friendly people.
I love Squidoo and am grateful for the opportunities it has provided to me. Not only is it a wonderful way to earn money, the community here is top notch. I have met so many wonderful lensmasters from all walks of life!
I am sharing this information with everyone because I know first hand how frustrating it can be trying to find that perfect work at home job. Now, that I have found it, I want to share it with you!
You can see her Squidoo earnings below. You can see she makes a lot through Squidoo.
I had my payout amount set at $10 and as you can see I received my first Squidoo payment of $13.34 in May; four months after starting on Squidoo. The big jump in earnings between June and July was really a turning point for me. The moment when I realized the potential of Squidoo as I mentioned above.
You will also notice that I had been making lenses on Squidoo since January 2007 and by June 2007 (6 months later), was only making $40/month (not including the additional earnings that I will discuss below). However, had I given up, I would have missed out on such a wonderful opportunity.
That is why I strongly urge all new lensmasters to be patient and to give their lenses a minimum of 6 months to begin working for them. It definitely can happen quicker, but that is just a general guideline.
May 2009 will be the last month I will be updating the screen prints below. However, I will still be posting my earnings recap and total Squidoo earnings on a monthly basis.
There are two ways in which to earn money on Squidoo.
From the Squidoo FAQ:
Squidoo makes money 2 ways: ads, and affiliate revenue. This means Google ads or other ads we contract to run, and affiliate income from Amazon, eBay, CafePress and more.
Ad revenue (Google and other ads). This money goes into a pool, so as to avoide clickfraud. Half of the pool distributes out to lensmasters, on a PayRank scale that is based on each lens’s average LensRank and traffic, and the number and quality of lenses in the lensmaster’s account.
Affiliate revenue (ie, referral income–like Amazon and eBay and CafePress). This is directly attributable to the lens that generated the revenue, and is not pooled with the whole co-op. The lensmaster gets a straight 50%.
Also,You could add a third-party Affiliate link to your lenmasters, such as ClickBank and Commission Junction and Shareasale.
